Promotion Criteria

A minimum of 80% attendance is a must for appearing in the annual examination. Minimum of 40% marks / grade D in each subject is a must for promotion to the next class. Appearance in examinations and assessment tests is compulsory. Application / medical certificate by the parent within 3 days is a must for missing a test for untoward happening / on medical grounds. No separate tests are held in such cases. Promotion is given on the basis of aggregate of the remaining exams/ tests. Rank as well as percentage is only provided in classes XI & XII. Grading system will continue for classes I to VIII. In classes IX and X, a student has to score 33% marks in elective subjects as per the guidelines of CBSE. Absence from examination / tests for any other reason is not condoned.

Guidelines for Parents

Achievement record is meant to keep you informed about the progress of your ward. Evaluation is done on the basis of periodic assessments through periodic examination, class tests, homework, class work, project work, co-curricular work and attendance and subject enrichment activities apart from half-yearly and annual examination.

Performance Indicators (I-II)

A - Very Confident: Exhibits outstanding creative expression in all activities. Works independently with enthusiasm and understanding. Shows lot of initiative and conscientious effort. Takes lead in group exercise.

B - Able to do : Exhibits responsibility and eagerness to work in all class activities; Completes work timely and neatly; Has clear concepts and reasoning ability; Is cooperative in group exercise.

C - Needs support : Needs help and constant coaxing to complete work; Gets distracted easily; Lacks initiative and responsibility; A lot of effort is required to come up to the appropriate performance level.

D – Needs constant coaxing: Lacks initiative and needs parental support.

E – Promoted on the basis of attendance and ‘No detention policy’.
